Asgodom Woldu, Chief Technology Officer
Asgodom Woldu is the Chief Technology Officer for OmPay, LLC and is responsible
for computer and technology security. With a strong background and extensive
experience in systems security, Woldu is well-versed in both algorithms and
encryption as well as data integrity. In addition, he is familiar with the NIST
standardization process.
Woldu has been working with current CEO James Kohler for more than four
years. He directs the design and implementation of the security infrastructure
for OmPay's transaction and data processing. Recently, he has worked on several
projects including the system in use by the Philadelphia Parking Authority's
Smart Card program. His approach is unique and as a forward thinker, he remains
grounded in time-tested engineering fundamentals.
Woldu graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
While at Drexel, Woldu lead the team that received first place in Phase one of
both the 2000 and 2001 Business Plan Competition. He is interested in open
source systems including Linux, Samba, Apache, MySQL and PHP.
